Hey!
What's up?
I'm a brazilian designer based in São Paulo. I enjoy playing guitar, soccer, and Counter Strike for fun
I started in Design in 2009, inspired by my older cousin. At that time, I thought I would be a guitar player in a famous band. By 17, I had already designed horrible logos and websites for my dad’s company. However, things got serious when I engaged in the Human-Computer Interaction Design Graduation at SENAC University.
The course was fundamental to my growth due to its fantastic professors and colleagues. That was when the term UX Design was getting popular, and we were part of it.
I was lucky to get my first job in the Design field right in my first year of University. I started as a Graphic Designer working for a small company in the city I live, Embu Guaçu. Then, I moved to a big agency as a junior front-end developer, where I met many talented people that helped me evolve. Even though I learned a lot about product development’s technical side, my heart relied on Design. So, I decided to start freelancing in 2010.
Freelancing is not easy, but I was lucky to have good people. My friend Amanda Louisi, my mentor, introduced me to the incredible designer Adriano Trenahi. After a couple of projects together, we decided to start our first design studio, MK Ideas. We had the opportunity to get early experience in how to talk to clients and budget our work.
A couple of years later, I joined forces with Amanda and found Rontu Design Studio. We worked on a handful of small brand projects, helping national and international clients find their authentic voices through design. Thus, we created our mentoring program for younger designers.
Branding work was great, but I wanted to get back to Product Design. I was interested in high-fidelity prototyping by using Framer, a coding design tool. After playing with it, I decided to focus my deliverables on that.To apply high-fidelity prototyping as the central part of my work, I needed a process to back it up. I realized Design Sprint was the perfect fit for it. After meeting the Lead Designer Renato Contaifer on Linkedin, he invited me to participate in a Design Sprint in Rio de Janeiro with the Startae team, which was the best way to learn the process.
Nowadays, I only focus on testing ideas by running Remote Design Sprints with clients worldwide.
